Weekly schedule: Analysis of your current weekly schedule
Weekly schedule: Analysis of your current weekly schedule
If you are new to consciously thinking about your time management, we would like to recommend that you first do an analysis of your current weekly schedule.
This means that you first document your week once. This self-monitoring helps you to see how and with which activities you actually spend your time.
First, we would like to share the personal experience of ConnyConfused with you, because ConnyConfused does not have a clear idea of how she actually spends her time either:

“At the end of the day I often ask myself where all the time has gone? I either feel like I did nothing but study all day, and yet I feel like I got nothing done, or I was like everywhere and nowhere all day.”
That is why ConnyConfused first carried out an analysis of her current weekly schedule. You can find Conny's current weekly schedule below.
Analysis of the current course of one’s week
The analysis of your current weekly schedule is simply about documenting what you did and when you did it for a week.
This documentation should not be too precise. You do not need to list short activities such as brushing your teeth, but you do need to list a one-hour train journey.

You can find a template for a weekly schedule in which you can document your week here: Weekly schedule
You can either print out the weekly schedule or fill it in electronically.
In the next step, we will show you how to analyse your weekly schedule and improve your planning on this basis.
