Creating posters to present scientific data

Harmony & symmetry

Why are harmony and symmetry so important?
As we have already touched on, the more consistently and precisely a concept is implemented, the more professional the result will look overall. Here, it is important to bear in mind that the poster serves as a reference for your work in general.

If the poster appears professional (layout) and well thought-out (concept), the person looking at it will assume that this is also true for the process of creating the work presented in it.

Side note: Reader perception
Human visual perception is set up to process information quickly under certain circumstances. Elements that are close to each other are just as easily categorised as belonging together as those that are similar or a closed entity. Identical boxes that are close to each other are very quickly perceived as a unit, identical designs as being equally important.
Symmetry promotes quick information processing, making it easier for the person looking at the poster to concentrate on the content.
