What are the benefits of Open Source and Open Content? (1/2)
Benefits for users:
The advantages of open content and open source for users are to a large extent obvious. The Internet contains millions of works, some of which are of high quality, of all conceivable types, which are under public licences and are therefore freely available. The use of Creative Commons content is made particularly easy for users. The procedure is as follows: A website (or a book, for example) indicates that all or certain content on the site is licensed under a CC license. The note usually looks like this or similar:

The banners and texts required for the license notice can be downloaded from the CC website. The "some rights reserved" banner and the text below are usually linked to the CC website (available only in German). They lead to a license overview which describes in a few, generally understandable words what the user may do with the contents and which duties he must fulfil. The overview also contains a link to the complete license text.
