Getting closer and get involved: How to support social closeness and active participation in the virtual classroom

Introducing the topic

In this learning module we will deal with the question of how social closeness can arise in digital space - and which methods are suitable so that the participants of a course become a lively and active community of learning.
The learning materials provided in the following chapters of this learning module include ideas for 4 areas:
  1. getting to know each other,
  2. working together,
  3. activation and participation, and
  4. getting feedback.
We will also take a look at the different phases of class:
  1. Before the start of the course,
  2. in the first session,
  3. in the following sessions, and
  4. the phase between sessions.
